  ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE

My cry of despair, my desperation moan
Blowing through where I’ve been and where I’m going
And that empty bleeding call got no reply at all
I’ve been anywhere and everywhere but home

I’ve lived inside a house and in a country cottage too
Sometimes it felt like jail like walls of stone
But none of them was home because none of them had you
I’ve been anywhere and everywhere but home

Burned up in the desert on the oceans I got lost
Tossed up on the sand all drenched in foam
Tracked in the woods and hunted in the canyon
I’ve been anywhere and everywhere but home

My cheeks was glowing red and I smiled but you turned your head
When I offered you a kiss hello
When I saw your face I thought this would be the place
But I’m anywhere and everywhere but home

It’s not easy to explain this certain special pain
It’s not like anything you’ve ever known
But I’m not opposed to trying, I just couldn’t make it rhyme
I’ve been anywhere and everywhere but home

I say my last goodbyes but there’s no one around to hear
It’s not the first time I’ve been alone
And judging by the past, it will not be my last
I’ll be anywhere and everywhere but home
